“Jean Gilletta Autrement”, from Avril 4 to May 5 2014
The Côte d’Azur between 1880 and 1930 : if nowadays we have photographs from that time, it’s essentially thanks to the famous photographer Jean Gilletta. His work has contributed to spread the fame of the Riviera around the world, thanks to the postcards bearing prints of his photos.
The artist Franck DOAT has decided to add his own touch of inspiration, combining Gilletta pictures with famous old monuments or modern buildings. The result is very original. Here below, the Louvre Museum’s Pyramid behind the “Casino Jetée Promenade” in Nice (destroyed during the Second World War).

Jean-Paul Goude has chosen himelf the 236 pictures in this exhibition which presents his great imagination and career.

Lesser-known than the Cap Ferrat footpaths starting from the hotel, the “Saint-Michel” trail is also a noteworthy stroll to do.
Starting from Beaulieu-sur-mer center, the walk will takes you to Eze-sur-mer. Along the 5 km (3.11 miles) trail with a peak reaching 380 meters of altitude (1247 ft), you will enjoy breathtaking views over the Cap Ferrat. A green and healthy way to discover the East part of the Côte d’Azur.
For the bravest, a harder stroll joins Eze-sur-Mer to Eze-village on top of the hill !
Start : 250m from Beaulieu-sur-mer Station. 15mn walking distance from the Royal-Riviera hotel.

At Gigi’s restaurant, you will feel the traditional Italian trattorias’ spirit.
Products from local markets, meat from the “Piemont” in North Italy, Gigi suggests a menu composed with food of quality.
My recommendation : this is a restaurant for meat-lovers. Tartars are delicious and the Chef’s special Burger is excellent, made with hand-crafted bread !
The plus : a terrace overlooking the Port of Nice to enjoy the colors of the old-town, drinking a cocktail inspired from the 30′s.
