Ready to travel back in time? The Rothschild and Kérylos villas invite you to a unique experience discovering the daily life of the villas at the Belle Epoque Time. Actors, dancers, musicians, villas come alive for unusual and unique visits to enjoy in family.

A day with the Baroness at Ephrussi de Rothschild villa

A walk in the footsteps of the Baroness Ephrussi de Rothschild will take you from trivialities to works of art and magnificent gardens. There are three workshops freely available to children and parents to take them into the sumptuous world of the Belle Epoque on the Côte d’Azur.

The Baroness and her guests
For this workshop, two actresses will re-enact the lives of the Baroness Beatrice and her cousin, Duchess Elisabeth de Gramont, recreating the atmosphere of the preparations for a grand reception during the Belle Epoque.

Beatrice’s necklace hunt
A tour dedicated to children, who will discover the permanent collection following a funny treasure-hunt.

Garden secrets
The head gardener of the Villa in Belle Epoque garb will guide you as you explore the gardens, uncovering all their secrets.
He will introduce you to many species of rare and exotic plants that the Baroness brought back from her many travels.

A day in a palace in Ancient Greece at the Kérylos Villa

Storytelling tour of the villa with Théodore Reinach
Played by an actor in Belle Epoque garb, Théodore Reinach will welcome you as he welcomed his friends to the Riviera, on the threshold of the villa. Through the tale he tells, bringing alive the Côte d’Azur of the Belle Epoque era, you will hear of his extraordinary life, this man who was part of the intellectual and political elite of France’s 3rd Republic (1870-1940). He will also share his passion for music, stamp-collecting, archaeology and above all for the Greek civilisation.

Duration: 35 min / Opening times: 10.30 a.m., 11.30 a.m., 2.00 p.m, 3.30 p.m, 4.30 p.m.

Tale of his journey by Ulysses
A poet dressed in Greek attire will await you with his lyre on the grand terrace of the Villa Kerylos. Children will be invited to dress up as they listen to the poet singing to a background of Greek music. This will introduce the children to the epic tale of the voyage of Ulysses. They will be invited to join in and bring the adventures of Homer’s hero to life.
