The love of music is instilled in every Marc Chagall’s works. The exhibition explores the sources of music in his childhood in Vitebesk (Belarus), the costumes and scenery designed by the artist for theatre, ballets, and Opera, and finally the largescale decorations produced for concert halls: the Paris Opera, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and the exceptional concert hall of the Musée National Marc Chagall, decorated with a harpsichord painted by the artist.
